Several years ago, our local indy bookstore invited in Norton Juster to give a talk, promote his new children's book The Odious Ogre, and sign autographs.
Odious was the second and final time he ever collaborated with Jules Feiffer as illustrator.
Norton regaled us with tales of (among other things) his youth, when he and Jules were roommates. The stories were charming.
When we lost Norton, I thought, "At least we still have Jules."
RIP Jules Feiffer.
Goddamnit.

@anne @dwenius It is amazing that they lasted this long, given how integral they were to my childhood reading more than 60 years ago.
