It is currently 5 degrees F (-8 with windchill factor) where I live. My sweet dog, with very little fur, is now communicating with us when we need to get the fireplace revved up for her. She stares at us and whines, then runs over to the fireplace and looks at it, then comes to us and whines--on repeat. Once the fire is going, she lies in front of it and doesn't move until mealtime. Wow, she's doing a great job training her humans!
