What the fuck does this even mean? Aren’t zygotes all female at conception?

“(d)  “Female” means a person belonging, at conception, to the sex that produces the large reproductive cell.

(e)  “Male” means a person belonging, at conception, to the sex that produces the small reproductive cell”

So in 30 days is the government mailing everyone passports and birth certificates with their birth gender on it if they have updated ones or what?

Is the National Guard going to come to people’s homes and snatch the current IDs that they have? Good luck to these assholes I guess.

“(d)  The Secretaries of State and Homeland Security, and the Director of the Office of Personnel Management, shall implement changes to require that government-issued identification documents, including passports, visas, and Global Entry cards, accurately reflect the holder’s sex, as defined under section 2 of this order; and the Director of the Office of Personnel Management shall ensure that applicable personnel records accurately report Federal employees’ sex, as defined by section 2 of this order.”

At this point, the EOs are basically a wish list directive to executive departments to try and figure out how to implement. It takes a lot of time for a department to write a policy, get it entered into administrative law, and begin enforcing it (and that's assuming no court challenges and injunctions which there's almost certainly going to be). And even after that, it'd be an absolute clusterfuck for them to even manage to sort through the millions of passports to try and identify which ones have been changed if that data wasn't captured and stored somewhere. And since that likely a design requirement of the system, who knows if that data even exists without comparing it all to decades of transaction logs or database backups.

And tbh, it's unlikely that an EO could even make a change like that to existing US citizens passports unilaterally without legislation granting them that power. At most, they're going to pause and revoke the ability to change name and gender on passports pretty quickly, but trying to reverse changes would be an absolute mess.

@JessTheUnstill thank you for your levelheaded reply, but what about the people in the prisons? There isn’t need for any administrative hearings before they stop giving people hormones or move inmates to different prisons right?

Can Governor Newsom do anything about BOP decisions in his state when it’s a federal facility? I’m really freaked out that people are going to die really fast. I mean not only will there be lots of suffering when their HRT is stopped, but if they put trans women in men’s prisons they’re not going to be ok.
