I think I know how to describe how I feel about the current state of politics in the world...
It feels like drowning. Every now and then we manage to kick up a bit and maybe catch a breath, but it's never enough, despite all efforts, we keep going down. It feels hopeless.
I wish I actually had something to end that with, besides some form of "maybe we'll turn it around one day" or "maybe it'll get so bad that it will get better". I honestly find it hard to believe in the first one, and the second option is well...

@awooo
All I can think of is to organize: join/make groups of people and help each other through this shitty era where the government is unambiguously your enemy in pretty much every country.

@awooo You know what helps? Not watching it too closely and distancing yourself a bit from news and social media. The thing is, the world has always been a more or less shitty place, the main difference is that nowadays you get scary headlines from the other side of the globe plastered everywhere you look. And it's unnecessary.
So genuinely if reading about it makes you feel shitty, don't read it. You'll find out that all these scary things actually affect your daily life extremely little; probably way less than the mental harm done by reading about it.
Hang out with friends, spread good mood and compassion, create good times for yourself and others, and face the bleaker realities of our lives armed with that. It gets much easier.
