Team Ineos are officially called Ineos Grenadiers. It's an advertising ploy, named after a climate chugging 3 litre 4x4 vehicle; a greenwash cycling team.

But the odd thing is the car. In 2023, its first year in production, only 4553 were made. Surely not enough to justify global sports sponsorships?

@ronanmcd I do find it curious as to how a multibillion dollar company ended up with a logo seemingly created by someone who had done little more than discover the font menu in MS Word.

@pete haha, I'm well worn and weary after decades in the design trenches. I've seen things the likes of which no one should see 😞. So, I didn't even notice.

However, I do remember when Ineos seemed like a new player, new company in cycling; all the press talked as if they had been around for years. There was no scrutiny, why are they putting money into sport etc. It's a 20 year old chemical company. I'm sure there's a story of some kind there. The list of sports where their money is, is... long
