I have been threatening to buy myself a cheap acoustic guitar for a while now, and have finally done it. 😀
My theory is that if I leave it next to the couch I'll pick it up and fiddle with it more often than I do with the electric guitar, which has ... infrastructure requirements.

@mike Big +1 on making sure it's easily accessible, I've got my guitars hanging from the wall and I see them every time I walk out of our home office.
But in terms of infrastructure requirements, the Boss Katana Go headphone amp is REALLY good for that. Plug it into the guitar, put a set of headphones on, and you're ready to rock with all sorts of different effects. The Fender Mustang Micro is good too, if a fair bit more limited in terms of effects.

Actually are you going to be in Sydney again any time soon? You can have my old Mustang Micro if you want, I don't actually have any use for it anymore.
