@nixCraft yes. That can cause a nightmare. Do you have physical access? If not, is there any way you can cycle power off then on? If not I would start looking into what backup you have...

@nixCraft Then you plug in a display to actually "see" what going on. It's stuck in grub because a button is pressed on the keyboard connected to the device and it had stopped the countdown. o.o
