I’m in the process of moving 2.5 years of entries from an increasingly flakey journal app to a hopefully much more stable one. It’s a bit of a laborious task, and it’s going to take a while, but it’s really nice to look back at my old entries as I copy and paste them. They’re mostly records of my walks, so there are a lot of sheep!
(Please don’t suggest doing a bulk export/import, been down that road, not happening)

@thebaywindowgirl Arrrrgh you’ve reminded me that I was part way through doing something similar, but that gave way to organising my thousands of digital photos (a lot of clouds, gates, sheep etc), which in turn gave way to scanning gazillions of old family photos and slides, and which all gave way to massive overwhelm and inertia 😩

@CloudsGoBy I ought to do something with my photo library really, but it's very daunting.

Yes, it's daunting too when some is back to analogue days. The digital stuff is at least in ISO date named directories.
Same with my big 8mm video collection, though the Sony Cam can at least play the older analogue tapes on firewire.
Perhaps I'll leave it all to someone in my will.
I'm going to try and forget about it now.
Also there is writing back to about 1994.
