If you have just downloaded your #Instagram archive and want to post your old images to your new #Pixelfed account ... maybe this little helper comes in handy: https://repos.mxhdr.net/maxheadroom/insta-import-pixelfed

This will take a directory as parameter and upload the found images in batches as new Pixelfed posts. The batch size is configurable and the title of the postings as well.

OK, the new release now contains OpenAI API integration to automatically generate Image Descriptions for the uploaded images.

with support from @dansup I found to right API calls for Pixelfed.

• ATTENTION*: Use at your own risk as this would obviously upload your images to OpenAI 🤷‍♂️

If no config for openai_api_key is provided, then the program will work without the OpenAI part.

@smer @dansup did you use my software for upload? Which instance? Admittedly I only tested this with my instance v0.12.4 so far.

@smer @dansup using the official Pixelfed app? Or just the web based interface? Might be an issue with the supported Image types of the instance. I haven't managed my instance to accept HEIC images yet ...
