How does a planktonic species travel against the general flow of ocean currents?

Were they instead carried here in the cargoes of live salmon on ships from Norwegian sites?

The toxic #salmon industry, not content with trashing our seas and economy, is its own worst enemy.

@RussCheshire Interesting. Can they attach to sea bird legs ? Otherwise yours seems the only answer. I doubt wild salmon would bring them

@John_Loader It's possible, even probable, that plankton can be carried by other species; but the volume of sea water used to transport live salmon between Norway and Scotland seems to me to suggest that statistically, shipping is the more efficient vector.
