The next time you hear someone say “the Constitution will keep that from happening,” remember, the Constitution is not going to leap from its display case at the National Archives and fly to the rescue. People who want to uphold the Constitution will try to keep it from happening. So when you hear that, make sure to ask: “Which people? Do they have enough power to do so?”

@dgoldsmith As many of us have been stating for the last year: a Trump win means he holds nearly all of the political power, and has already circumvented both federal laws and the US Constitution. The left has very little political power to stop the Trump agenda.

As the years have gone on, I'm less a fan of the Constitution and more a fan of the Declaration.

"...whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness."

@dgoldsmith Much like Biden's preemptive pardon protections which will only work if everyone's following the rules and we know for a fact that Trump never follows rules if he can get away with it (and he usually can).
