Toot

A reminder: you are not obligated to keep aware of everything. Filters are your friend. Sanity mutes & blocks will help with your peace of mind. Keep adding to your filters as new things come up. Filters come with lots of options: you can have them expire or stay put, you can turn them into CWs behind a heading that you can open if you feel like it or have them hidden completely.

Folk whining about bubbles, you do you, leave people safe places. You are not owed an audience.

Take care of you.

@CStamp Thanks for the write-up!

I'm new to this, so i want to ask if you know a way of throttling some accounts? I have some I follow, which I actually want to see news from, but sometimes they post so much that my feed is filled up for many pages.

@tameplatap7s You can set filters that time out after a set time, so you can quiet people or terms for set times.

When you set up Filter Categories, you can be specific about the headings, then put in the terms you want that filter to filter. You'll see them as a CW heading, which takes up less space in your feed and you can open only if you feel like it.

But...another option for news and accounts that mostly do news is to create a list for that, which you can... 1/2

@tameplatap7s ...hide from your main feed and just look at it when you want to check out news.

On the web, there is a list icon. If you click on it, it'll open a page for your lists. Click on the + in the upper right, then create a list.

At the bottom, you'll see "Hide members in Home," which allows you to keep it out of your feed until you decide to seek it out. 2/2
