I upgraded from a 2013 iMac to the new M4 #MacMini and the transition has been a mixed bag. I’m setting things up fresh and it’s been mostly seamless, but:

I didn’t appreciate being forced to move from iTunes (RIP) to separate media apps. Mainly with Voice Memos, which doesn’t let you save to an external drive…

And one of the free musical instrument libraries I frequently use also got enshittified (Spitfire LABS), so now I’m trying to figure out how to get the old version working 🙃

Also learned about the caffeinate terminal command, which prevents your Mac from sleeping until the terminal window closes. This has been handy to prevent large downloads from getting interrupted (like Logic’s sound library)
