Also learned about the caffeinate
terminal command, which prevents your Mac from sleeping until the terminal window closes. This has been handy to prevent large downloads from getting interrupted (like Logic’s sound library)

I upgraded from a 2013 iMac to the new M4 #MacMini and the transition has been a mixed bag. I’m setting things up fresh and it’s been mostly seamless, but:
I didn’t appreciate being forced to move from iTunes (RIP) to separate media apps. Mainly with Voice Memos, which doesn’t let you save to an external drive…
And one of the free musical instrument libraries I frequently use also got enshittified (Spitfire LABS), so now I’m trying to figure out how to get the old version working 🙃

[#]RStats {targets} question: Anyone have good examples of tar_eval()?
The part I’m struggling with is that I’d like to use it in place of tar_map(), to prepend names to the new targets, rather than having them as suffixes. Can I do this with a single vector of names when I have a list of targets, or do I need to have a unique vector of names for each target in the list?
EDIT: I came to a satisfactory solution, see posts threaded below!

[#]RStats peeps: Is there a nice way to use the walrus operator, :=
, with a vector of values? (e.g., in a dplyr::mutate call)

Any #RStats peeps using {conflicted} in their R profile? i.e:
if (interactive()) {
require(conflicted)
}
If so, how have you found it? Do you declare any “winners” of conflicts there with conflict_prefer() too?

Does anyone have examples of using a {targets} pipeline in an #RStats package, where the pipeline (1) relies on (exported) functions from said package, and (2) will be used outside of the package (either as an exported function or copied as a template)?
