Is there a good alternative for GIPHY? I only found out recently that it is a Meta product. EDIT: It is no longer owned by Meta. Some “anti-Meta campaigns” incorrectly list it as being owned by Meta.

@mookie So, this is what I get for believing folks protesting Meta. GIPHY was owned by Meta, it is now owned by Shutterstock.

@vmstan They were. My error. I saw some recent “Anti-Meta material” that claimed it was still owned by Meta. I edited the Toot to limit spread of misinformation. I’ll do better fact checking next time.

@fuzzface TIL Tenor had been owned by Google since 2018 and is the source of gifs in the Google keyboard app (Gboard).
