The Game (1997) is a perfect combintation of direction (David Fincher), cinematography (Harris Savides) and score (Howard Shore) making it a treat to experience.

The idea and execution of the plot is wonderful while the movie sprints from start to the finish line, though deeper thought afterwards will show some pretty big seams.

Rated 7 out of 10.

Today’s movie is The 13th Warrior.

When I first signed up for Netflix, back when they did DVDs by mail, this was the first DVD I got from them.

This lovie is based on Michael Crichton’s book Eaters of the Dead which is based on my favorite Old English poem Beowulf.

Crichton wrote Eaters of the Dead on a challenge from a friend who said he couldn’t make Beowulf exciting.

The season finale leaves two plot lines open for a third season. I really hope that SyFy greenlighs a third season.

I was so happy Felix was reunited with his daughter.

Kelly killing Maddox was tragic.

Arc 1 going to find others is awesome.

I’m hoping Garnet and Ian make it as a couple.

The two docs are cute together.

I just finished watching The Ark season two. Wow! What a season. I loved it.

The heavy focus on survival in the first part of season one didn’t leave much for the characters. But they did start to establish characters and let us know who they are in the first season.

The second season took the characters and really developed them to a point where I cared for them.

The most tragic of the character arcs was unexpected for me, it was Kelly’s character arc.

The Ark season two has been fantastic. Everything in this season has improved so much.

Episodes 9 and 10 were the culmination of character arcs from the start of the show. It was a powerful and emotional pair of episodes that left my feelings in a mess.

The acting, directing and writing made these two episodes so strong. Kudos to everyone involved in the show.

I am so glad I stuck with this show. This is quality television.
