I was opposed to the whole “TikTok ban” situation. But ByteDance may have proven Congress’s point.

Biden noted he would not enforce the ban and allow the next administration figure it out. ByteDance still turned off their services to Americans, blaming the Biden admin.

And then they turned it back on, thanking Trump.

The congressional mandated ban was already in flux. The shutdown was self-imposed. This was all planned.

Maybe congress actually did have a point.

@bedast So TikTok's announcement of its return was itself misinformation:

1. Trump in no way caused ByteDance's undoing of what ByteDance itself had freely done.*

2. Trump was not President at the time.

@bedast anybody pretending that #TikTok thing is about their freedumbz is as free as they are just dumb.

[#]ByteDance, everything they made, is, factually, a natl security threat (as many other platforms), and they will, like every #DTBO socmedia, push for and usher whatever a fascist in charge tells them to, even for the prospect of minimal increase in their profits.

So, everyone screeching about "freedom!!" regarding TikTok can go eat a bag of maga dicks.

@bedast It was all subterfuge to make Trump look like the savior, to take all the credit much in the same way he’s taking credit for the cease fire and hostage release. It gives him two unearned ‘wins’ to begin his dictatorship with.

@bedast No, they really didn't.

If you want a real conspiracy theory around ByteDance, look at a few things:

1. How much of a bite TikTok was taking out of Meta's product base. (Nobody is a customer of corporate social media. They're the product.)

2. How many congresscritters have substantial stock in Meta. (It's bipartisan too!)

3. How many congresscritters bought (more) stock in Meta shortly before the vote to ban the foreign upstart.

Once you see that you can't unsee it.

Is pretty hilarious that ByteDance did a better job at publicly proving their intent to manipulate politics in America in 1 day then the rest of the whole goddamn government did in like 5 years
