One of my 2025 goals is to learn a new recipe every month and if it's not a bother, I would love y'all's suggestions.

@jessie any particular ingredients that you would like to avoid?
=> More informations about this toot | More toots from hughrawlinson@mastodon.xyz
@hughrawlinson I am genuinely the most chill person about food ever, the only things I won't eat are things folks reading this probably won't recommend!

@jessie here’s a nice Swedish one - Raggmunk. Potato pancakes with bacon and lingonberries (which are available in IKEA). It’s tasty and easy! :)

@jessie assuming you eat cheese or some acceptable melting substitute, this is a very good, unique, easy recipe we've used for years: Sweet Potato Quesadillas. Obviously, being a quesadilla, you can dress it up with anything from jalapeño to crushed pecans to ???? But it's fine as is.

@mrcompletely ooooooooh, this is for real the weather for this recipe and would let me get wild making salsa, TY TY TY
=> More informations about this toot | More toots from jessie@mastodon.social
@jessie yes! If you go in on the cayenne you can make it nice and warm, but if you're a salsa maker, this is a great vehicle. We have it both with a regular red salsa and with the mango or pineapple habanero salsa we mostly use for fish tacos
Welcome, enjoy, it's really a great effort to yumminess ratio recipe

@jezhiggins ok so i remain politely suspicious of vegan cheese technology and my skills to make borek but thank you and I will weight this up cause it looks stunning

@jessie I do not consider the almond business in this too be any kind of cheese replacement - isn't intended to be, isn't trying to be. It's just called that because people expect cheese in a spinach borek. This recipe is really straightforward and you can do it a bit at a time, without any kind if rush. And, it's lovely.

@jessie I use the Jusrol filo pastry, and use two shhets for each roll. Depending on how big you make it, you'll want two boxes 👍

@jessie My family likes to focus on easy, one-pot recipes since we're frequently busy and tired. While this may be a common type of dish for others, we were never familiar with Goulash and roughly follow this recipe, but add a bag of spinach and sub ground turkey.

As a side note, if you're interested in organizing recipes like this you should look into the Mealie self-hosted app - it's been a game changer for us.
