Decided it's time to wash and reproof my jackets. Hopefully they will be dry by the time I need to cycle to work tomorrow.

Why the fuck is this not integrated into the OV chipkaart system? Why is integration with ov chipkaart not a mandatory requirement of approval for th operating license?

More night trains good.

Shitty ticket policies. Fuck no.

Ov chipkaart is one of the best travel ticketing platforms in all of Europe. Not integrating it is a very very poor show.

Ooph. Bike ride was a lot shorter than I had hoped for. Just too cold. And the headwind sucked. Did do some hill reps on a dijk tho. Not much, but it's a start.

I see storm Herminia is hitting the UK. After Eowyn a few days ago.

What happened to storms f and g? I thought they were supposed to be in alphabetical order?

I may have to learn to forge ambidextrously else I'm gonna end up with my right arm being bigger than my left... I was only banging boiled rocks for an hour or so. But I can really feel it in my upper arm and shoulder.

Once I got too tired to safely forge. (blacksmithing is quite the workout). I decided to take some time to update the documentation for the makerspace on what blacksmithing tools we have. 39 photos and some typing later, we have a good cross section of the tools documented. All the common tools to use at least.

It's currently about 12C in the makerspace. Everyone is dressed in warm clothes with big coats and scarfs and hats.

I'm wearing a tshirt. This is fantastic forging weather...

A well hung trio...

The maker space got some new smithing tools including these hot cut chisel (left), and fillers (centre and right). But they come without handles. So I had to fit the heads to handles.

The process of installing a handle to an axe is called hanging. I'm not sure what it's called for this sort of tool, but I'm not gonna pass up on an opportunity for a pun.

I wish we wouldn't talk about waste in terms of mass. 140 tons of plutonium! oooh, that sounds like it's loads.

Except plutonium is really dense. 140 tons is just over 7 cubic meters if you put it all together in one big block (don't do this, that's bad). You could fit that in a transit can (yeah it would break the suspension).

That's a surprisingly small pile in need of storing.

Ugh. All the localisation settings I have are for either UK English or English-Netherlands (yes en_nl is a valid locale). Yet. The MS 0365 portal is such that I can't work out if my licenses renew in April or September. Which date format is it using!?! There's no way to disambiguate the date... Fnnngh

Hopefully the silver being chemically bonded to the copper which is chemically bonded to the steel will stop any more rust problems. As well as make the pendant stand up better. I need to get a new leather necklace, but the linen one will do for now.

Electroplating (at least for copper and silver) worked out a lot easier than I feared. It helps to have a good bench power supply to regulate the voltage/current. (Thanks to Housemate for lending me their PSU).

4/4
