I have reached a conclusion I never expected: #LinuxMint is on its way to being a better #Windows than Windows is: all the productivity and none of the nonsense.

Have you tried SolydXK?

@manuelcaeiro Not in a long time, but I just tried SolydK out in Boxes because you asked and it made me curious.
My first impressions are meh, TBH. It's not bad, but it's definitely not something I'd ever deploy for a business -- too rough around the edges.

SolydK is 'heavier' than S.X, the one I had installed on a quite old laptop. It was slow, but never crashed and I did some demanding tasks with it. I used a lot Wine with PlayOnLinux and it was surprisingly fast. The final impression was according to the name - solid.
Note: I don't like Mint. I installed it on a friend's laptop and when I tried to upgrade it, or fix it, it was impossible. I must explain that my friend ♀️ often forgets to accept updates, but that's no reason.

@manuelcaeiro I'm sure it's quite stable, given its heritage. I'm glad you've found something that fits you well.
If I had the same problems you've had with Mint, I probably wouldn't like it, either. I feel that way about Elementary -- I want to like it, but I'm good at finding problems in it really quickly--even without trying.
My experience has been that major version upgrades are not the greatest, but everything else is amazing.

Oh, I don't use Solyd Linux now.
(And on my friend's laptop I installed Ubuntu.)
