It’s going to be 35 degrees Fahrenheit (1.6 degrees C) with a wind chill of 19.
They have not canceled soccer practice for 10yo. Should we go?
(We’re not going, but I’m curious if it’s normal for children’s soccer practice to happen in this kind of weather. Are we just being decadent parents?)

@rk uhm of course? I know some players who’ve enjoyed playing in snow (at least the ground is less slippy when frozen than when wet).
At ten, they will even enjoy playing when there’s about 5cm/2in of warer standing on the field (BTST and shuddered), long as they can warm up after. Only a thunderstorm is a definite no… or heat.

@rk In the UK, at those temperatures, even adult practice would be cancelled because the surface would be frozen and unsafe

@rk Adults these days ... no wonder the kids are the way they are. :)
Need to teach them the meaning of 頑張れ (or Finnish "sisu").
[Truth in advertising: I'm from the part of Canada that seldom gets much below freezing, altho' I did survive a few winters in Ottawa and Toronto. BTW, Buffalo has colder weather than Toronto.]
