@purplepadma It’s completely harmless. People are perfectly capable of playfully referring to themselves as refugees from a social network and also of recognizing that being a political/geographic refugee is a trauma of a much greater magnitude.

@bodhipaksa @purplepadma it’s also completely harmless to call yourself a veteran. Saying you were a war hero doesn’t diminish what actual soldiers did, right? Rape victims, I’m sure wouldn’t mind some imaginary support. I didn’t pull people from burning buildings during 9/11 so I don’t tell people I did, they didn’t lose their homes to political or environmental disasters, they are just bored.
