Maybe it is done for the clout but do lots of Americans think the rest of the world doesn't have access to quality food and public spaces? Or is it just that they believed the propaganda of their government this last decade?

I don’t know about that, but I’m often met with shocked incredulity when I tell Americans I turned down the opportunity to emigrate there in the 1990s after having spent time there in the 1980s.

A lot, possibly even most of them, genuinely believe the USA is the best country in the world and think everyone else is desperate to move there.
