I wish I could know the geological models a cetaceanoid alien race would develop (assuming an Earth-like.world). So much of plate tectonics on clear display, but only having access to crust less than ~150 million years old. And whatever could be seen on the continental shelves, mostly just piles of sediments. And no road cuts!

@moira Yeah, totally fair. And they probably worry about all the species stuck up in such a vacuous medium that they can only communicate over a couple meters of distance at a time. Surely no civilization could ever develop given such limitations!

@attoparsec yeh I did that on my old digital audio workstation

(xubuntu+jack+ardour mostly, I had a little recording studio for a while, built it for myself then other people were "this is really good can I use it?" and a couple of bands did)

but yeah i'll look at it later. i mean, worst case, it's an imac so the opposite of portable and an ethernet cable works fine.

think i'm done for today.
