Confession #328 of a long-time royal watcher.
There's one thing I miss about the late Prince Philip, The Duke of Edinburgh. His sharp tongue. For example, this is what the royal second fiddle said upon leaving a plane, when asked by a particularly unimaginative journalist what the flight was like:
"And how was your flight, sir?"
"Have you ever been on an aeroplane?"
"Yes."
"Well, it was like that."
Anyway, here's a picture taken out a plane window in 2012, using the Retro Phone app on an HTC Sensation... a phone possesing a battery life so short it would die faster than a cordless Magic Wand.

@tip Aye, the article is spot on. The Duke was a horrible person... a caricature of an aristocrat in every damned way possible. He was also a terrible father, shitty husband... you get the idea.
Royally privileged beyond imagination, his station brought (bought?) him privacy that was rarely breached. So we only saw the tip of the iceberg (an iceberg that was very, very white).
The life he almost had in Greece, as a child, and then married into in the UK, was fascinating. And not generally admirable.
Royals. 🙄
