Confession #328 of a long-time royal watcher.
There's one thing I miss about the late Prince Philip, The Duke of Edinburgh. His sharp tongue. For example, this is what the royal second fiddle said upon leaving a plane, when asked by a particularly unimaginative journalist what the flight was like:
"And how was your flight, sir?"
"Have you ever been on an aeroplane?"
"Yes."
"Well, it was like that."
Anyway, here's a picture taken out a plane window in 2012, using the Retro Phone app on an HTC Sensation... a phone possesing a battery life so short it would die faster than a cordless Magic Wand.

I always try and get a seat behind the wing. It gives a perspective of being in a bird-like creature. It also allows great shots like yours.

@BigD Window seats behind the wing are the best. I daydream during flights, looking out the window, especially on cross-country trips. It helps to focus for 6 hours on something other than my tablet.

The dipping and flex of a wing is quite a fascination to me, especially on landing.
Also, flying from one island to another, especially on a homeward flight.
