It's Jan 19 in Australia.
Apropos of nothing in particular, I was thinking about how it's quite possible to march people at gunpoint into a factory or warehouse, lock them in and force them to work.
It's much harder to march them into an appliance store and force them to buy an air fryer. #SpendingStrike #OptOut #Polycrisis

I also think there's a connotation to the word #resistance that implies like-to-like confrontation - two blocks of wood pushing at each other, even if they are different sizes/shapes/densities. But history is full of resistance (whether against #fascism, or another malign force) that is like water. It slips through power's fingers or flows around its fist. #OptOut #SpendingStrike
