@hexaheximal might be too late but for the sound effects you should do a common game development technique where there's a float between like 0.8 and 1.2 and the value of the float is how much the pitch of the sound effect is pitched up or down. this trick is commonly used in games like diablo where the same sound like hitting an enemy is played very frequently. the ever so slight adjustment of the pitch allows the user to not get "audio fatigue" and feel like the sound is slightly different each time while staying consistent so that you don't get annoyed.

Well, if you didn't say it publicly before... it's out here now!

And I wholly agree with it, by the way. It's surprising how much sound effects can add to any interface, whether in a video game (where you'd expect it) or even in an application. Not to mention it just makes the UI more fun.

but yeah, for quite some time now (I don't remember specifically when) I've felt that it needs to be fun, and I always cite the nintendo 3ds as an example of what that would be.

@tertle950 there is actually a song in the audio demo app (which you can very very briefly hear in the video at the beginning of this thread actually) which sounds somewhat nintendo-wifi-connection-core, and I have found many other (public domain) songs which also have that vibe to it
