Seems that's not the only place, & they haven't restricted themselves to causing just ecological havoc. In Yorkshire, they're vandalizing historical resources — a prehistoric settlement dating back thousands of years. All in good fun, though...

@dmayhood I would characterize these fools as vandals, pure and simple. They happened to be driving vehicles off road, but referring to them as “off roaders” or “4x4 drivers” is a broad stroke indeed. The vast majority of “off roaders” and “4x4 drivers” would find the behavior of these idiots as abhorrent as the next person.
