When I moved to Denmark many years ago the fact that you could pay everyone using MobilePay was a game changer. No need for cash if I can just pay to anyone's account immediately.

Now with free instant transfers within the Eurozone I feel that the need for an equivalent app in the EU is mostly gone. I just transferred from a German account to a Lithuanian one and that's something MobilePay can't match.

@leonidas I wouldn't count on the instant stuff just yet though, kinda surprised it worked before the deadline is up ;)

@wink I had it working transferring late at night (when banks usually sleep) so with N26/Revolut it works fine.

@wink Which is overall not surprising, instant transfers were implemented a while ago and worked fine; they just weren't free.

Paying 50ct on every transaction makes a huge difference in the sums that people use money-transfer apps for.

@leonidas Maybe mostly implemented. If the EU demands it be done by 2027 I will bet money that not all banks have.
