@nat My personal favorite is when they say disability activists "just want the publicity"(Which, ok, for the cause, sure, but those three articles,twenty years apart, are the publicity...there's not, like, endorsements for Orthotic-O's.)

@nat Not the same thing, exactly, but I watched a thing about Elizabeth Finch that reminded me how surprised I remain that people actually make things up to get pity. It's true, that if I'd used my gift of gab to make it pay the way fabulists seem to, my mother would have slapped the white off my face some time ago, so maybe I've never had, like, the Premium package, but being babied just doesn't feel that great to me.
