Three more students added into my intro class since yesterday. So a full third of the class has not attended yet. So much for making an engaging first-day experience! By the last day to add, we will have had two and a half weeks of a first day for someone in class each day. #pedagogy

@gmeneses94 Linguistics. I love it. But the intro class takes a lot of intro, since it’s not a class most of them have taken in highschool.

@LingLass Intro professors are sometimes the best teachers, because they motivate and show thought-provoking things, which influence paths, sometimes not direct path to intended study.

@LingLass If I'd have missed my first day of my first ling class, I would have missed the intro lesson on expletive infixation! That would have been an absolute tragedy.

@LingLass and it wasn't even a general ling class! It was an intro to syntax, but it had no prereqs, and my professor clearly knew the best way to get us hooked early.
