So... long ago I took up a #pixelfed account but let it slide because I was not building engagement. Occasionally I post #photography here. Is it the consensus that I would be better off posting photography in the other place and if so does it share here or do I need to deliberately cross post? #confused #senior ;-)

@incredibish Pixelfed is a nicer interface to showcase photos. 

I have both Pixelfed and Mastodon accounts and the type of content I post to each is very different, so the engagement I get in each is also very different. As with Mastodon, it takes time to build that engagement; a good way to start is to explore hashtags and follow other people whose photos you like. 

I hope you'll give Pixelfed another chance and enjoy it! Good luck!

• Pixelfed accounts can follow Mastodon accounts, Mastodon accounts can follow Pixelfed accounts.

• When following M accounts in P, you only see their posts that include images.

• Hashtags are a good way to get P posts seen by M users.

• Your P and M accounts are not linked and have separate follow lists. I have my M account follow my P account, so instead of cross-posting, my M account boosts my P account posts that I want my M followers to see.
