Are there alternatives to Google Drive and its respective programs (Docs, Sheets, etc.) that are suitable for individual use? I feel like every time I try to look this up, everything is really focused on business stuff. The fact of the matter is, that if a client wants to use Google or Microsoft, that's their problem and not mine, but that doesn't mean I want to put my own personal stuff there!
Thus, I am investigating alternatives and would appreciate any guidance the more tech savvy folks of the fediverse have to offer (unless it's a suggestion to host my own server since I'm very uninterested in learning how to do that right now).

@mollymay5000 That's the problem...All too often individual users are ignored as the big money tends to come from businesses and getting them hooked on a subscription. I've been searching for alternatives too. Proton isn't close to it (they do privacy well) however, they are in some hot water due to CEO antics.
Libreoffice, that's more of an offline tool that works well enough, definitely not what you want.
It's legitimately wild that another competitor for individuals that is focused on user privacy and able to blend with many use cases hasn't come up (at least in my searches). There's a niche that nobody wants to fill. 😬

@WanderingInDigitalWorlds It does feel a little strange... I suppose Dropbox was originally part of this market just for the file sharing part, but I deleted my account yesterday because I've literally never used it. It's not like I'm a heavy Google Drive user when it comes to my own files either. I probably don't even have 1GB of data in there that's my own and I've been using the same account for like 15 years...
I literally only have files on there that I needed to move from my computer to a different device without doing the email to self nonsense and a single Sheets file that I maintain my library list on (I should probably find a more reliable solution for this too, but well...)
Edit: 1.27GB used and 1.12GB is from Google Photos syncing with my phone lol

@mollymay5000 I personally use Proton for that purpose, as it allowed me to move files from my phone to desktop, or the other way around if necessary! There's also the iCloud, but this is not necessarily a privacy focused service, so only low risk things are moved in this way. There are cloud services that do the work for you in terms of hosting and have an app. However, I need to remember where my list of choices is!
Your needs are simply enough, so it would be easy to get a low cost cloud service with app to allow you to sync things from PC to where ever you need it. Despite you having a preference for a cloud suite (which Google and Microsoft provide, but are naturally untrustworthy).

@WanderingInDigitalWorlds That's only really because I often edit my library file when I'm out and running around or need to access it to make sure I don't buy something I already own. I could move that somewhere else. It would be a hassle because there are 1000s of entries in the spreadsheet, but well...

@mollymay5000 Fair and a valid need, since it would be hella convenient for you to be able to manage that file anywhere.
It seems that I might have found something, WPS Office does have a productivity suit with 20GB of cloud storage...

Take a look at this site and see if this might suit your needs...
