@jaykuo Currently LLMs excel at generating plausible bullshit, and if the job is to match a form that appears a lot in training data, they do even better. So I am not surprised to see such claims. But they are also prone to just making things up, so if there are places where errors could cost the filing company significant money, that last 5%, which would be correcting the initial draft, might take 50% of the time that was formerly spent. Still, reducing the effort by half, rather than by 20x, would be a win.

@jaykuo "first they came for the artists" ;)

This has echoes of the "learn to code" meme that was aimed at skilled workers in manufacturing as jobs were lost due to outsourcing. Well, we all know how that played out with all the tech layoffs not long after. Now they're coming for all the white collar jobs

I maintain the only way out of this dystopia is worker #coops

@jaykuo

"Write a legally binding document in just a few minutes that if done incorrectly could land you in jail" is not a great selling point.

I think AI will be like offshoring: Some US jobs were lost, but a lot companies have to keep re-learning it is not the red easy button they think it is.

@jaykuo as if every IPO or any other legal document is written from scratch.

the boilerplate is there to protect white collar jobs, because understanding how to wade through that 95% to find and confirm the details requires expertise.

the goldman sachs statement is pure fluff in my opinion

@jaykuo Investment houses will eventually be graded on IPOs per second. If you're not bringing a new company to the market every 33ms, what are you even doing in the industry?
