This #youtube channel by #DanielsGulbis is a total gem!

It's dedicated to the work he's doing on a short film called #fisherman in #blender in a cell shaded #2d #npr style

It looks great and his channel even goes into detail about how he achieved some of the stylized effects that are easier than you'd image. Great tips!

Time to flip the script

The typical framing of the #fediverse being "outside" the big platforms like #fb #meta #instagram etc is actually the wrong way to look at it

THEY'RE OUTSIDE the #fediverse !

There is an advantage here that they don't have, everything that uses the #activitypub protocol can communicate together. #pixelfed with #mastodon #peertube and on and on.

Quick reminder, or new tip;)

Since #Mastodon or the #fediverse in general doesn't use #algorithms like the evilcorps the only way subjects/posts can be followed effectively are through the use of #hashtags

So if I want to follow #knitting for example, do a search for that hashtag and follow ... now everytime some posts using that you will see it in your timeline.

This is where it is super important for you as the poster to remember to use many #s

After a brief interaction here about some mobile apps for #pixelfed I was reminded that many people are not familiar with the alternative #playstore called #fdroid which once installed gives you access to a massive library of #foss and #opensource applications that DON'T include the typical ads, trackers etc that are always included on the official #google playstore.

If you prefer a more #instagram presentation when following #photography or #art accounts, it's easy!

Create a #pixelfed account like you did for #mastodon https://pixelfed.org/servers

Then, if you find an artist that you want to follow from there, due to the nicer layout for that type of content, just copy and paste their account

ex. @nicetriangle into the search bar and voila ... you're following from there (where you can also comment)

Can we please collectively get as upset about people linking to #gafam services like #YouTube #Facebook #instagram #meta etc as people were about adding alt text to images?

If you post videos, don't link to yt, the videos are not even viewable now without logging in to their surveillance machine.

If it's short upload to #mastodon or better yet discover the lesser known siblings #peertube #pixelfed #loops
