Coffee shops with concrete walls, concrete floors, and hard ceilings should only play ambient music, or no music at all. But really they should probably get a little bit of sound treatment.

@chorist i thought everyone but me loved vocal-forward pop at 111 decibels at 6:45am against bare walls that's thrice as loud as the friend or barista one is trying to communicate with
