Toot

I fell in the rabbit hole called quilting. Been watching numerous vids, both instructional longer ones and shorter inspirational ones.

I gotten me some various rules to cut out pieces and a ruler that looked fun that I really didn't know much about how to use, the pineapple quilt trim tool. There's also a larger version apparently.

Don't think I'll do an actual quilt, but possibly use a block or two for a bag or something other small.

@annascrafts welcome to quilting! Seems like you have a great start with tools and techniques, I’m really looking forward to seeing what you create

When I started it was going to be “just something small, a pillow or two” but now I’ve made hundreds of quilts. Maybe your bag will lead to more, too? In any case, good luck and have fun!

@inarticulatequilter thanks. Yeah I guess it is possible that it will evolve. I recall doing some simple blocks as a kid in school (textile working as well ass woodworking is in the curriculum of Swedish school from around age 10 ( third year of achool).

@annascrafts I would have loved both classes as a kid in the US. I did take “shop” to learn to use some tools and basic sewing in home ec. But that was decades and decades ago and I was the only one doing both in my whole school district. Don’t know if they even offer classes like that today. Hope what you learned comes back to help you now, tho 🪡🪡🪡

@inarticulatequilter yeah, I have been sewing on and off since, just not quilting, and technically what we did in school was not quilting either, was none of the backing and binding, but rather using a simple block technic for sewing practices (log cabin i think)
