In other news:
I'm fuming with work today. I actually had a small panic attack because of it. Then it turned to pure rage.
Yesterday afternoon, my colleague and I mentioned how I was getting all the incidents, and he wasn't getting any. We were sort of fobbed off, but told we would try some things.
Today, I logged in and I had 9 incidents, 5 of them given to me this morning! When I say "this is taking the Mick", I get laughed at and one manager says "just pass them over!".

It's not so much that "we'll try some things" didn't work, that I accept will have some teething issues.
It's more the complete lack of care from the other team looking to see if what they've tried is being fair or not.
If I had been transferring a ticket, and was aware that there were some issues, I'd double check they weren't all going to one person!
Sadly, in the last two years, our ticket management has gone from cooperation to "throw it over the wall and forgetaboutid"

This is due to a change in management and management style. We went from "working fine, processes in place but by no means perfect" to "stats, call times, ticket numbers, save money on kit (whilst shelling out more elsewhere), change processes without telling anyone, siloed teams and 0 trust between related teams". It's exhausting and, quite frankly, disheartening. We deal with the public's lives (indirectly), but instead we concentrate on numbers and figures.

Final thing:
It's all too easy to say "it's the [insert government/publicly funded agency here], what do you expect?" And that's the problem! We (as a species) have become too accepting of being shat on by people higher than us and just accepting it! Why should it be ok this happening just because it's the NHS? It isn't, and shouldn't be accepted. We should cry out and demand better, especially if we're paying for it!
JFC, I love the NHS, just not it's middle management bullshit.
Rant over.

@DodoTheDev ugh sorry you're having to deal with all of that. I'm not a fan of govt run healthcare but I don't put that on line workers.

@tiefling
Thanks Dio, you're a diamond.
Yeah, it's not perfect, but rather that than what you have on your side.
I just got a mental slap from my crush, so once I'm done feeling sorry for myself, I'll pick up again.
