[#]WritersCoffeeClub Jan 17: What are your biggest fears for the writing world in 2025?

That my fellow creative folks will lose heart.

This is a fear in any year. Though some writers have the support systems they need to weather any personal or larger scale challenges, many don't and many are taught to go it alone. Many are encouraged to give up on creating for a number of reasons and it takes a constant routine + willpower to keep that up. It becomes harder when there's too much friction.

And, I want to add, we will always need creative people to do their creative work.

The internal work, the ability to articulate things that many people feel but cannot express, the willingness to be vulnerable--these are vital for humanity. This is how we learn to be human and to strive for more than brutal zero sum games that dehumanize us and destroy the fragile things we build to protect those we love.

The stories are the pretty part but we labor to get there.
