Mastodon has been shitty for breaking news about the fires in LA.

–very few people in the affected areas posting news about the fires here

–many, many people far outside the affected areas posting garbage takes, conjecture, misinformation and disinformation

If you don't know the area, and you're inexperienced with breaking news about fires and other major disasters, maybe sit this one out.
