@penfount, 2024 was my exploration year, actually my first year. I tried many things, but one memorable was the plus ca.crea notebook. It has good paper, a hefty number of pages, and less smearing due to a little bit more absorbent paper, the TRP drying time is just unbearable for me.

@penfount discovered the hobonichi brand and their paper. I'm particularly impressed by their Graph notebook. https://www.1101.com/store/techo/en/2025/pc/detail_toolstoys/tt_graphnote/

@penfount

  1. I got Banmi inks for the first time in 2024 and they were very fun, the holographic shimmer inks.

  1. I also tried Barock for the first time—a classic East German brand that was revived by Octopus Fluids as a sub-brand. Those all had a lot of nice depth to them, despite being “standard” inks.

  1. I had had a couple of Wearingeul inks before, but in 2024 I tried a lot more of them and was pretty impressed.

  1. Got into wax seals as a fun related sub-hobby.

@penfount Tried some Chinese inks for the first time, & really liked them. Hosia in particular. I plan on picking more up this year at some point.
