I painted my nails for the first time last night and I've been hyper aware of my nails since and I don't know how y'all do this. Maybe I'll get used to it, but it's so weird to be aware of my nails as I type this. I can't imagine what it's like to wear acrylics.

@fancysandwiches for me it was both style and keep me from biting my nails. But life never had them grow out much … until I got gels a few months ago and whew… too long. Got in the way of typing.

@fancysandwiches I experienced the same awareness the first few times I painted them, as a weird cold/damp feeling for a few days. Now I don't notice at all, they feel the same regardless of their painted state.

@davidism Good to know! I'll ride this out for a few days and see if it fades into the background for me.

@fancysandwiches
I had the "there's something on my hands" alarm going off for about 24 hours and then it calmed down.
