I know that people like to shit on Starbucks (and often they richly deserve it) but I like their upcoming new policy of making reusable cups mandatory for free refills.

Agree but I also question the net benefit of people going through many non-recyclable reusable mugs made of steel and plastic that uses factors more inputs (including mining and smelting) than paper cups.

@NMBA I would like to see some numbers on that. One could apply the same logic to reusable containers used at home. Should we switch to paper cups there?
