I opened my @fastmail account um... a year or two before Gmail launched, I think. I've flirted with a few email providers including the one that we're all talking about today, but Fastmail is solid and reliable and I think genuinely not evil. They're based in Melbourne, which I think is cool, but yes, that means we're in a #FiveEyes country, which may be a deal-breaker for some.

When I left Google a while back, I chose Fastmail. I’ve been very happy with them. I was deciding between them and Proton. Given recent events with the latter, I’m extra happy I chose the former.
