Discovered somebody trying against all odds to grow in a mostly closed, mostly lightless container. Relocated the little soul to a place that felt conducive. At least, for however long, there will be the full experience of soil and sunlight. πŸ€žπŸΌπŸŒ»β˜€οΈ

Update on the sunflower sprout: looks like this one’ll never get big (at least in part because somebody chewed the roots off) but at least got to experience a few days of earth and sunlight. There is a further development, though. . . .

Another sprout!

I planted this one near the other one but in a spot that felt more solid, so maybe more safe from tunneling by root-eaters beneath. 🀞🏼

Update on the second sunflower sprout: someone ate the top off of this one (and pulled em out by the roots, probably in the process), but again, at least they got to experience sunlight and earth for a while. I found some more seeds in the bin that were just beginning to sprout, and flung them to a different spot they seemed drawn to. Maybe someone will make it. Note that the previous sprout, though limp, is still green and alive-ish in the upper left of the photo.
