The airport is quiet. There aren't any automated announcements on the baggage claim level. People conversing tend to use a lower voice. The atmosphere is rather like a library.
We had to be directed to the right luggage carousel by a non-automated announcement though.

Checking out the small museum exhibition in the International Terminal.
There are many other exhibitions after security, but I think this is the only exhibition room landside.

Literally had Caltrain doors close on me thanks to the slow elevator

It's nice that breakfast is included here, but it's even more simple than the one in Chicago.

Trying to find information on how a non-resident may drive in California, and neither Caltrans, DMV, or Visit California had any information. Finally found it in the California Vehicle Code, section 12502 https://leginfo.legislature.ca.gov/faces/codes_displaySection.xhtml?sectionNum=12502&lawCode=VEH

Checked out the San Mateo County Museum.
It's neat, though I felt the exhibitions are somewhat limited in perspective.

Arrived at the San Francisco Caltrain station.
There are several diesel, and to my surprise, electric locomotives parked in the yard here—the current service does not use locomotives; the rail cars have their own motors.

There is an IKEA 1 minute away from the cable car turnaround on Market St, that's good to know.
Sadly the visitor center at Powell station remains closed, despite still shown on MUNI maps.

Taking a historical streetcar down Market Street, there are many hotels on both sides.
It's something I didn't get to do the last time I was in San Francisco.

Had late lunch at the Fog Harbor restaurant at Pier 39.
The one time so didn't check the carbon dioxide meter...

There is a health care conference hosted by JP Morgan inside this Marriott. Despite the large number of attendees, the air is fresher than I expected.

Driving this rented EV on the hills of San Francisco is a bit unnerving, and the one pedal driving takes some familiarizing—to the detriment of other drivers on the road.
It was also very difficult to find any kind of place to stop the car...

Finally made it to San Jose, in a charging location not far from the hotel.
I'll need to move the car later, so it doesn't occupy the charging spot when it is no longer charging.

Taking an early morning excursion to Santa Cruz.
This mountain ridge drive used up 12% of the car's battery (with heated seats on because it's 2°C / 36°F outside). Now I see why Polestar doesn't sell the standard range version of its car in America.
