@lane_ass_jenna i just followed you there from my bluesky account. but i can't see your screenshot on this post, nor can i see your profile pic/background pic too. i wonder if it has something to do with "ass" being in your name lol. wouldn't be surprised if that's what's holding it up.

@lane_ass_jenna The person who runs the bridge is insistent that it is opt-in only, so if the person on the Bluesky side comments on one of your posts, you will only see it in Mastodon if that user has done so. If they haven't, it's just going to be dangling out there.

@joe @lane_ass_jenna My largest struggle has been getting people on Bluesky to enable the bridge... some have, but not many of the people I know have yet.

@lane_ass_jenna @rasterweb I got @sirber and a beloved local news outlet to subscribe to @bsky.brid.gy but I've mainly gotten silence from other folks. When I tried TMJ4, I got a reply that they want the ability to delete posts without a record of it ever being there and that federating would make that impossible (which is kind of true).

@rasterweb @lane_ass_jenna I think that saying goes that information on the internet is like pee in a pool, once it's there, there's no removing it. I can think of a number of services that explicitly track the deletion of content from websites.

@cshlan Oh okay! Thanks for helping me out there and clarifying that a bit. Learning as I go, but I think this should work out fine. I didn't really wnat to have two profiles that are, essentially, the same thing. I don't have time to keep bouncing back and forth between both haha.
