A.) If the president does it, no consequences,

B.) as long as he stays in office. So the worst person in the office, who has people illegally killed, has every incentive in the world to never give up that office until his own death.

The US Supreme court has incentivised a dictatorship.

POTUS is a popularity contest, and can do anything, no limits.

What a shit country.

No, I love my state, most of the people in it, and the beautiful natural environment.

I love a lot of other places too.

But government exists to do what the individuals can not. It creates justice, equal opportunity, assures the common peace, general welfare, the opportunity to pursue one's happiness.

The perversion, popularity means you can do anything, and people who can do anything (the rich) must be popular. It will be the death of this government. A hollowing out.
