During the writing of my #CRTC submission yesterday, thre was a question Rogers' planned update to DOCSIS 4. Ended up reading some Cablelabs documents. Looks to me like the final coax upgrade. This is designed to use all of the coax (no more TV chnnels) and will require cablecos to fix any coax cable defects in a neighbouhood that could interfere with spectrum propagation at all those frequencies.
Marketing allows download to 10gbps (like DOCSIS 3.1) and upload of 6gbps (3.1 max at 1gbps)

In comparison, 3.1 allows 10/1, but Rogers offers max of 1.5gbps/50mbps so the 50mbs max offeres shows the true capacity limitation. But with DOCSIS 4. the full use of coax moves 3.1's 96mhz allocated to upload to 685mhz and apparently will allow 1gbs/1gbps to be marketed so big change on upload.

Rogers looks at Bell's success and wants 5 year year monopoly wherever it has deployed DOCSIS 4. (even though DOCSIS 3.1 modem will work where 4 was deployed with capacity/speed limits of 3.1).
